Relay.app is shutting down: export and migrate before the wipe

Relay.app free accounts and data are deleted 2026-08-15 23:59 PT; paid accounts 2026-09-14. New signups are off. Export workflows now and rebuild on Zapier, Make, or n8n — do not start new Relay projects.

These are direct vendor links. They are not Amazon Associates or other commission programmes on this page.

What actually matters

  • Export workflows, run history, and tables immediately — credentials are deleted with the account.
  • Map each Relay flow to Zapier tasks, Make credits, or n8n executions before rebuilding.
  • Prioritise business-critical automations (billing, CRM, support) first.
  • Re-create OAuth connections in the destination; do not assume tokens transfer.
  • Budget rebuild time; wind-down access is temporary, not a reason to delay.

The shortlist

  • Zapier for the broadest connector library and non-technical rebuilders.
  • Make for visual multi-step flows already similar to Relay’s canvas.
  • n8n for self-host / data-residency requirements.

Evidence-backed entries

A sensible test workflow

  1. 01Inventory every active Relay workflow and mark criticality + owner.
  2. 02Export today; screenshot or document each flow’s trigger and side effects.
  3. 03Rebuild top-critical flows first, then cancel or delete the Relay account on your schedule.

Common mistakes

  • Waiting until wipe day to export.
  • Starting new Relay automations during wind-down.
  • Assuming annual refunds or free access remove the need to migrate credentials and tests.
