PlayStation 5 Pro
The most powerful console on raw graphics throughput, with Sony's spectral upscaling doing much of the work.
Best for
- 4K single-player showcases
- PlayStation exclusives
- Buyers who want maximum fidelity
Watch out
US MSRP $899.99 (from April 2026); UK RRP £789.99 (PlayStation Blog). Retailer bundles and promos come and go — check the live price. No disc drive included — budget for the add-on if you buy physical games.
ROG Xbox Ally
The handheld Xbox: full Windows + Game Pass in an ASUS-built 7″ body (Ryzen Z2 A, 16GB/512GB) at an ERP under the Series X.
Best for
- Game Pass libraries
- Xbox + PC play anywhere
- Handheld-first buyers
Watch out
Windows on a small screen is more friction than Switch/SteamOS; battery under AAA load is the trade for the open library. Xbox lists these as estimated retailer prices, not Microsoft prices. The Ally X (Z2 Extreme, 24GB/1TB) sits at $999.99 ERP; the X20 (7.4″ OLED, Z2 Extreme, 24GB/1TB) opened pre-orders 25 August at $1,299.99 / £1,299 and releases 15 October 2026.
