Windows on a small screen is more friction than Switch/SteamOS; battery under AAA load is the trade for the open library. Xbox lists these as estimated retailer prices, not Microsoft prices. The Ally X (Z2 Extreme, 24GB/1TB) sits at $999.99 ERP; the X20 (7.4″ OLED, Z2 Extreme, 24GB/1TB) opened pre-orders 25 August at $1,299.99 / £1,299 and releases 15 October 2026.

US 512GB MSRP $499.99 from 1 August 2026. UK post-hike: 512GB £429.99, 1TB £519.99 — the 512GB SKU sits just £10 above Switch 2’s £419.99 UK RRP (in effect since 1 September 2026). The 512GB drive fills quickly, and there is no disc drive — physical games need Series X or another platform.
