ROG Xbox Ally
The handheld Xbox: full Windows + Game Pass in an ASUS-built 7″ body (Ryzen Z2 A, 16GB/512GB) at an ERP under the Series X.
Best for
- Game Pass libraries
- Xbox + PC play anywhere
- Handheld-first buyers
Watch out
Windows on a small screen is more friction than Switch/SteamOS; battery under AAA load is the trade for the open library. Xbox lists these as estimated retailer prices, not Microsoft prices. The Ally X (Z2 Extreme, 24GB/1TB) sits at $999.99 ERP; the X20 (7.4″ OLED, Z2 Extreme, 24GB/1TB) opened pre-orders 25 August at $1,299.99 / £1,299 and releases 15 October 2026.
Xbox Series S (1TB)
The 1TB digital Xbox — same 1440p target as the 512GB model but with double the storage for Game Pass libraries.
Best for
- Game Pass households
- Digital-only 1440p
- Buyers who need more than 512GB
Watch out
US 1TB MSRP $599.99 from 1 August 2026; UK £519.99. No disc drive; 1440p-focused rather than 4K. Raw SSD throughput is under half the PS5's.
